Elementalism

This is the fastest route to power. Elementalists are not subtle. Elementalists are not brilliant or wise. The most important thing elementalists aren't is patient. What elementalists are, however, is mighty.

Each element has a single element skill; spells are bought cheaply, up to a maximum of their element.

Goety

Goetics don't use their own magical power; they are a type of priest, gifted with access to the powers of their deity. This magic comes(and goes) at the deity's whim, but one does not become a goetic if they mind their deity having a lot to say about what they can use it for.

Not all magician priests are goetics; most deities allow their priests to study other magic, and every Magical Art can be gifted by some deity.

In addition, a number of knightly orders are religious, and those generally have sub-orders of paladins(goetic knights).

Hedge Magic

With quick and crude spells, hedge mages get the job done with a minimum of fanfare. Hedge mages learn five skills — each associated with a finger — and each spell is cast at a percentage of its finger skill.

Thaumaturgy

Thaumaturges don't learn spells. Nevertheless, they do cast spells, by learning thaumas — pieces which can be assembled into spells. Every spell has a list of thaumas that go into it, and a thaumaturge who knows them can string them together to cast that spell. Yes, they can cast any spell from any other Magical Art — but what they gain in flexibility they lose in raw power.

Enchants a glass-worth of elderberry wine to grant a lesser form of See Invisible: Fey. The drinker has only half their Per for seeing fey, but modifiers to vision don't apply - notably blindness. After 10min is up, the effect ends and the drinker loses 1 FP.
